Our Goal
The goal of RBES school health services is to secure and promote student health, so that all children may meet their optimal learning potential.
What We Do
Our health room has a full-time nurse and a full- time health assistant. Should your child be injured or become ill, he/she will be sent to the health room. If the illness or injury is serious, parents will be contacted. Some of the services that we provide are:
- Identification, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of health concerns.
- Medication administration
- Individualized health plans and services for students with disabilities or health conditions that interfere with learning.
-Coordination of State Mandated Programs including lead screening, hearing and vision screening, scoliosis screening, immunization, and physical exam review.

Kristen Self RN, BSN
I have been a pediatric nurse for over 12 years, and until now I have always worked in a hospital setting. My background includes Pediatric Emergency/Trauma, Pediatric Intensive Care, and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. I am excited to start my school nursing career here at Running Brook. I have 2 elementary age girls of my own. I love to have fun and make people laugh, and at the same time I hope to educate and promote wellness to the Running Brook community. In my spare time (haha!) I enjoy reading, running, photography and scrapbooking.
